about

What time is later? is a song that considers the meaning of time and its passing, it was inspired by Sharon’s daughter asking her the question at Purbeck Folk Festival “This question as well as being a great line was thought provoking and the rest of the song seemed to flow quite naturally from that starting point, what does ‘later’ really mean?” said Sharon.
What time is later? features Sharon on vocals and ukulele and she is joined by some very talented friends who orchestrate the song with piano, accordion, violin and backing vocals. Damon and Kate Bridge who are also based in Somerset and perform with Owl in the Sun as well as being Sharon's Occasional Band.

lyrics

What time is later she said unto me
What time is later we’ll just have to see
You can’t read the tea leaves or live in the past
We can’t see the future however we ask
We ask…
What time is later youth asks of age
What time is later it’s part of the stage
Now is the beginning and now is the end
The sands keep on running down to the end
The end…

Instrumental
What time is later, I really don’t know
I’m loving my life and I want it to slow
To feel every heartbeat and taste every tear
But beckoned or not later is near
It’s near….
What time is later we’ll never know
What time is later how I love you so
All that I know dear and all that is true is
I want my laters to be spent with you
With you…
